Cheers Rohan

Wow Norm, it looks like this is going great. I'm sure you're very excited to start putting it back together. I know I'm excited to watch it go back together.

I'll be posting some pics soon enough as things progress but this site has been DEAD for a while - nice to see someone is still out there.

Hi Norm

I think you will find that we are all here, but watching someone priming a car is about as exciting as watching the grass grow!

Look his made the car grey and now his making the car even more grey.

Lots of hard work but until you have done or at least helped a friend do it you don't know what your looking at!

Things will pick up when you start MM build of your motor? :P

So post more photos of the painted car that looks like sex on legs by the way :-*, and start the engine build.

Cheers Rohan

Yep still here mate ;-) - looks like everythings coming up Milhouse!

Rohan might have a point about not knowing what we're looking at - but then again, for me that applies to nearly the whole damn thread and I'm still here!
Watching this has been a great way to learn.

Im stuck at the moment on mine with a rusted-in diff. God knows what I'm gonna do to get the axle shafts off.... but anyway...

Would still love to see the twins in January when I'm over... I'll be staying in Lavaal with friends :)

Equally eager to see the next stages of both the sexy bits and the oily bits.

Top shelf work, as usual, Norm. I may not post many comments on your thread, but I'm watching you! 8)

Hey Kef,

Glad to hear you're still following the thread... I find from time to time the site gets real quiet...no new posts and no comments..and not just for my thread... for the whole site...

I mostly blame Darky for this...not sure why I do -  but you just cant trust those aussies...except for Jay-Vee - he's good people...  ;D

I found one of my outer lower ball joints worn, so I finally pressed new bearings into the spare set of control arms I had laying around. I intended to throw them on, but all I could hear in the back of my mind was, "Would Norm install a nasty looking, dull set of control arms on his car?"

So I took the time to clean, prep and paint them.

Damn you, Norm. Damn you.

There is such a thing as the law of unintended consequences...I never thought I could get this far on this resto due to my utter lack of experience and much less that I could set some kind of standard!!

So Kef, good on you for raising the bar. If we can all do that our grandkids will be driving our e30s...

Of course THIS e30 has a ways to go before she ready to be driven!

Loving your progress!

I've been trying to get my rear-ended car back on the road, and your posts serve as an inspiration.

BTW,
I think your rear speakers need to be spun 180 degrees.

Yes, your BMW premium speakers are backwards. The tweeter goes towards the outside of the car.

Thanks, I appreciate having those "oversights" (aka  "$ck ups") pointed out...I had noticed after Id screwed them in this summer when I compared them to the M3's setup.. I didnt care as I will be taking them apart again and replacing the speakers later this winter.. Going with a hidden bluetooth system so I can have an original e30 radio but modern sound hidden away... Just need a radio...

Its impressive how bad those "premium" speakers sound...
