Haha yeah you're dreaming about being able to afford those excess weight charges.... - you're down to hanging onto the wing, buddy... :-p
Then again I could swap you with the missus lol.
Although 40 deg yesterday, 41 today - you'd have to be as crazy as I am to go to Montreal this time of year 0_o

Sexy Pistons you got there.
You also better be careful with those whisperings of 'another e30'... sounds like your E30-osis is flaring up again.

Don't swap the missus!!  And as much as hiding in your luggage would be fun,  I hate to admit it, but I can fly to Australia for under 100$ anytime... only problem is making the time - next to impossible for the foreseeable future! And you're probably right about the e30osis... Im back down to two: I "should" try to keep it that way..

One day amigo... Australia and a ride in your e30 is on my list!

Done but consider

Funny vid but I think I will be more worried about your driving!!

Hi Norm

I keep seeing slight differences between us and euro e30s, really interesting.
Never seen a rattle clip before, weird.

Merry Christmas too bud, enjoy your white Christmas and send some snow here!

Cheers Rohan

Thanks Rohan!

It was actually 17C yesterday and its 8C today.. We havent had snow yet! Unheard of! This time last year it was -25C...  :-\
However we will be getting 20-30cm in 3 days..so winter will start! Jay-Vee will be happy I guess!
I just took the M3 out for its last spin - she wont see daylight now till April..  :-[

I should be getting the engine back in 2 weeks.. Still have tonnes to do and doing lots of stuff Im not documenting.. I just rebuilt the trunk lock as it wasnt working.. Basically completely dismantled it and degunked it and relubed everything and now it works a treat plus a bunch of other stuff... Now I can close the trunk!

Merry Xmas to you too.. All the best in 2016!

Jay-Vee

Yep you're right mate, somehow we brought the snow all the way from 44C Aus!! I'll send u a private message on here, see if we can work something out.

You're perseverance never ceases to amaze me - what a job just doing those brakes looked. How's the thumbs?

Bonne Année!

If only everything was as easy as those brakes!

I'm troubleshooting some ISSUES which are slowing progress but it's all part of the fun...

I PMd you...

Look forward to having you and your new bride over!

Cheers,
Norm

Clean work. I do recommend you get the BMW bleeder valve dust camp which included a clipping mechanism to hold the braking lining sensor wiring.

Nice work mate.

But 25 mm master cylinder would be nice little mod, another difference steering is on the left! Lol

Nice but not required!  ;)

I figured ABS delete, M3 steering rack and lollipops is enough modding for me!!

Me no mekanik...  ;D

Its a pretty standard e36 conversion rack.. Depends on which one you get. Can have 3.25, 3.0 and 2.7

Here is a rebuild kit with some info..

http://www.zionsvilleautosport.com/store/screen/prod/store_code/6134/product_code/E30SRC1.htm

The rack I have (off of #2) appears to be an e36 M3 rack but it's id number is interchangeable with a number of e36 models.. No matter, I tested it while it was in the car and its 3.25 vs. 4.0 for the standard e30. So it will be an improvement. By lollipops I mean the wishbone bracket. I swapped bushings to an eccentric e30 M3 bushing.

Btw, Jay-Vee came over a few days ago and we had a splendid time. Super nice guy, he really enjoyed seeing the project up close and was just giddy when he saw the M3. Too bad it was bloody cold and winter or else we would have gone for a spin!

Hi Norm

Ok so e36 m3 rack.
Thought you found a e30 m3 rack, don't know anything about them.

Did Jay Vee throw a snow ball at you? I would!

Going for a spin on the wrong side of the road is just weird to start with!
In a m3 could really get interesting.

Cheers Rohan

I think e30 M3 racks wouldnt be worth the cost as the ratio could be bettered with an e36 rack at a much lower price.

As for driving on the wrong side of the road: he would be used to it - you guys drive on the wrong side of the road all the time!  8)

I felt bad but it was about -15C outside and WINTER.. Best I could do was back it out of the garage and let him rev it!

What a tease...  :(
