Norm, word of advice, careful with the rack swap from zionsville, they're for non airbag cars so you may have to do a couple more steps to make it work right but they're all pretty well documented on r3v/e30tech. I went with the kit from zionsville as well but the 2.7 turn lock to lock option. One of the best things I've done to mine, it really wakes up the steering.

I dont have the zionsville kit. I just have an e36 rack that was in my parts car. It was already installed so I know it fits. I will have to bend the power steering lines apparently. I dont have any info though so Im a bit concerned about doing it right...  I wasnt the one who removed it as the new owner of number 2 brought it to a shop where they pulled the engine and the rack.. So i didnt get any pics or have a chance to see the setup...

He had a 318i and he brought a 318is that was damaged, he was in the process of swapping motors!

Never understood wheel offset before, guess i have always lucked out!

Also ix e30 are rare as rocking horse s**t here in oz.

Thanks for the explanation, so I looked up mine hartge 16*7.5 with a offset of et25!

You're welcome Rohan.. I didn't go into great detail but its simply where the face of the inner wheel is relative to the center of the wheel laterally.. I knew that but I ASSUMED because it was a style 5 wheel the offset would be the same...

Assume = (make an) ASS (out of) U (and) ME

Yeah I can certainly vouch for the fact that the black looks rather sweet against the red body compared to the tan...

This was Norm and I braving the minus-degrees to perv on the M3 - I was even lucky enough to be allowed to rev its nuts off in the driveway hehehe ;-)
