Hi Norm

Great work by the way!

We have known each other for awhile now, so just please consider:-
You brought a e30 318is about a year ago and pulled it apart,
Then you brought another one about 6 months for a parts car and pulled it apart,
Now you you have brought a m3 and guess what your pulling it apart!

Seeing a pattern? ???

Your wife is not understanding, she is a bloody Saint!

I'm going with the name of this disease e30osis

My 2c worth any way bud.

Cheers Rohan

Jeez, I don't really see any pattern... what pattern?? ::)

My wife btw, calls them the "fuck@n cars" so Im not sure about her being a saint!!
To appease her, I pulled off the 17" wheels from the M3 and put them on the black e46: she thinks its a really "cool" car now and its become her car now so I get some leeway with my case of e30osis!!

Im back from work and have 4 days off so Im hoping to get some serious work on the M3 done. The wheels are off at a specialist wheel place and they are refurbing them and will repaint them. They do beautiful work so Im very excited to see how they turn out.. They should be done by 01 May...

Im excited about getting back in the garage!!

Hmmm..maybe Darky is right... I may need to check in to some kind of clinic....  :P

LOL! I know what you mean. I welded (gobbed) in the rear corner pockets of my car the last part of the year and haven't done anything else to finish it other than spray some primer on it. Meanwhile, Norm has restored three cars... :P

I have visited Harbor Freight three days in a row getting tools to complete this rear wheel bearing...
I can't imagine how often you go to the tool store?!  ;)

The worst is replacing the rusty nuts and bolts... Off to Home Depot to find a new bolt/nut...pay 89cents for something that cost .0001cent to produce and then go home and realize you forgot to buy x/y/z...

Go back to Home Depot...

repeat...

Realize you forgot that OTHER thing....

aarrgg...

 ;)

I'm guessing Norm runs in and makes her dinner(and does dishes) before he disappears back in the garage?! :)

I'm not what your wife may think but I enjoy every single picture.  8)

Working on exactly the same part of my car today. Had to modify the sway bar links (8 series) to fit my H&R sway bar and not rub the body of the car. Hardware is M10 compared to the M8 used on e30's.

Just FYI the axle nut you currently have on the half shaft is actually for the front. the rear is also M22 but has a different flange.  Part number is 33411125664

Glad to hear Im not the only one spending quality time laying on his back under an e30!!

Some us consider this quality time laying under their E30 a simple fact of necessity, not luxury like you guys.. :)
As for all the work on the M3, it's a matter of investments. That car when it's done could be sold to help pay for your kids college?!

BTW,
I cheaped out on the sway bars - kept the stock ones for now... no reason to change them!!

I hope to have the car back on rubber before the end of next week..!

Fingers crossed!  ;)

I might stop by Ikea today and pick up a nice area rug to lay on when under that car.

I can't say the H&R sway bar made a huge difference over the stock one. Although the car feels firmly planted to take an on-ramp at at highway speeds... That's good enough for me.

Push hard and make the deadline. lol
