Don't go with the 715's. They just had a huge recall on them for leakage. I had them but never got to install them and they sent me the 150 version which is the ford motorsport ones. I don't have the number off hand but I'm pretty sure it's the 947. So 0 280 150 947.

Good luck with your purchase.

thanks for the recall info, dbilas says:

"We have two airboxes, one for E30 and one for E36. Maybe that the other guy has the wrong airbox. If you come to us, we can show you, what is the difference."

No need for the hostility:) You never said you were in Germany at the moment.

Regardless, it would be nice to see the differences between the 2 plenums so we all know what works and what doesn't.

Cheers,
Ralph

no hostility, lol, just lack of patience. race you to get the ITBs in and tuned ;) I won't even be back to my build until April.

looks like the replacement injectors are ford racing 24lb/hr part # M-9593-AA302

snagged a few aesthetic goodies, prolly gonna get a no-cat mid-pipe and mtech 2 kit soon.

I'm in Thailand right now but hoping that my car is getting the exhaust welded right now so that when I get home I can go tune it.

Those are exactly the inj's you DON'T want to get!! Those are the 155 body type that had the leakage issue.  You want the 150 style I posted earlier.
0 280 150 947 they should flow about 260cc where the 715's flow 256cc.
Same same but different as they say here in Thailand.

Good luck with your goodie collecting. Get some nice stuff!!

Pics of the plenums would be awesome too. I know that Dbilas suggests at least a 262* cam with the ITB's so ask them what their current pricing is, if you wouldn't mind. But if the motor is bored and stroked they suggest at least a 272*. Those prices would be helpful as well:D

Cheers,
~Ralph

I'm leaning towards the 155 body cuz they have the "better" four hole spray pattern. 256cc is more than enough, and I can bump it with a FPR if it's not. I'm not sure of the specs on the regrind cams I got from the hq autosport guys. I will try to get the pics and your questions answered. CatCams has a decent selection of cams too, just didn't wanna pay the $8-900 price tag when the regrinds popped up for about $300

coming from a ford tuning website: http://eectuning.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14217

Different injectors most definitely have different Injector Offset curves. In fact, that's not limited to just rated sizes of injectors. A Bosch EV1 24lb injector isn't likely to have the same Injector Offset curve as a Bosch 24lb EV6 injector or a Denso 24lb injector. The mechanical construction of each of those is no doubt different, so the characteristics of how responsive it opens and closes will be different as well. Looking at the 97 Explorer 5.0L tune which has 19lb EV6 injectors has significantly lower Injector Offsets across the voltage range as compared to the Injector Offset curve in the GUFx EECs, which is for EV1 era 19lb injectors. That tells me they made improvements, not only to the spray pattern, but also in the injector's responsiveness to open and close...thus reducing the amount of compensation required in the Injector Offset function.

Ordered this cat back by fox exhaust... front silencer, not crushed under subframe and has blocking plate to prevent future crushing, retains separation joint from stock setup. ~$750

I'll post sound clips in the spring when it finally gets installed ;)

So my exhaust from fox just arrived and all i can say is wow, I am extremely pleased with their work. The exhaust is a straight through design, all the welds are excellent, and even comes with a TUV approved certificate. I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing this exhaust to anyone who really loves their M42 E30. I had to wait 5 weeks for construction, but for the price it was totally worth it. I bought it on german ebay for $695 shipped. You will most likely have to go thru their US distributor, of which I can't find any but there is a US webpage where you can contact them directly:
http://www.fox-exhaust.com/us/customer/findealer/index.html

I can't wait to install it when I get back and post a video ;) But of course the video won't be coming from a stock M42 either

I just finished working with Barrie aka midnight-tuning (http://www.facebook.com/#!/Midnight.Tuning.Solutions) on a custom XDF/bin for tuning my build with the stock Motronic ECU using an Ostrich 2.0 emulator. Barrie is an absolute pleasure/professional to work with and I would highly recommend contatcting him for any of your tuning/chip needs.

Now i'm looking to get a KnockLink G4 for knock detection using the stock OBD1 knock sensors (same ones LinkECU sells as an option with the G4). Pair that with the my LC-1/SplitSec MAF kit and I should be able to dial this thing in pretty well... eventually :)
