Sorry for picking this thread up again.
So what wireharness do you all use with which coils?
Do most coils of e38 ;v8 r6; or else fit with the wireharness from a e36 323i?
Are the plugs all the same especially from the m62, m64, m50, m52, m54, s54,... to the coils?

i´m driving a e36 Compact with the m42 and beeing often at the Nürburgring ;-) So it must been working for this sesion... :-)

Kind regards

Here is my finished E36 M42 COP conversion:

Thank you all for your help.

A few remarks regarding the plate:
- for E36 car that little tail from the back needs to be cut in half (i did not used anyway so I could have just cut it all) because it is very close to the firewall
- I used M5 bolts for the coils (like the original coils were fixed) this allows a little clearence which can compensate for small imperfections in the cutting of the plate.

It's plug and play for E30 M42's and early E36 M42's.  If you have 4 coil connectors in your harness then you are good to go.  If you have an E36 with the single round connector then you need to make up a new harness or splice into your existing.
