Whenever you get a chance to take photos of the engine parts it would be brilliant, but theres no huge rush.

Question: would it be possible for you to bring a ruler along with you when your taking pictures? and place it beside the parts when your taking the photos?
That way we would be able to get a rough idea of the sizing of some of the parts...obviously it wouldnt be very accurate but it might give us a rough idea.

Okay, i think i have spotted the Dry sump tank. It is located behind the drivers side headlight, just to the right of the intake snorkel.

You can see the the tank in the bottom right corner of this picture.
The hose with the Aeroquip fitting going into the tank is the input hose. The oil then goes into the tank and is sucked out the bottom by the second stage of the pump.

You can see in the bottom right of this picture the material sticking out the top of the filler neck. This material is used to seperate out any air from the oil (it is generally used in catch cans), it also acts as a dampening material for the tank.

Not that anyone asked the question but im just thinking out loud, trying to analyze the pictures

Bttw Swiss, the adjustable blade antiroll bars are incredible, and the fact that they can be adjusted from the drivers seat just astounds me!

i am not sur if thats really the main catch tank, it seems a bit too small for me. usually there are build for 5-6liters of oil. it could be that this is the first tank, then there is somewhere an other one.
like the fuel system.
the big fueltank-pump-catchtank-pump-engine

oilsystem (perhaps!!)
oilpan-pump-small tank-(pump)-big tank-engine...

the next time i will ask and then take a pic..

I was thinking that it might extend underneath that panel but that might place it very close to the ground and also in a very dangerous position in the case of an accident.
Oil all over the track=not very good.

The tank i pointed out might just be a catch can for the main oil tank. Almost like an atmospheric breather (hense the material inside).

The only other places that it could be are under the airbox or in the boot where the battery originally goes.
Infact the battery box seems to make sense as there are some AN lines running towards that area of the boot in your pictures of the rear anti-roll bars...and also placing it there would be better for weight distribution.
And if i remember correctly, the FIA rules about dry sump tanks state that they have to be in a seperate compartment to the driver or else surrounded by an enclosure....hmmm

If you wouldnt mind asking the next time that would be cool

the small tank is for ventilation only.. the main drysump tank is near the gearbox..
