I haven´t used a SMT7 for boost, but the settings are real easy,
the SMT7 should meet all your needs and then some,

I´m almost finished with my m42 swap, when it´s done, I´m going to alpha-n the engine using a SMT6, will report back when I get going, was going to use a MAP sensor but decided it didn´t matter as neither measures air really,
a O2 will be there for closed loop after the re-tuning

i have the 184s1 m42 318is engine...

the man i bought it from told me that he has e36 m42 engine installed , full with ecu , gearbox and rear axle...

i do not know if he is telling me the truth , because the engine does not have the intake of a 1996 m42 , but the intake of an 1992 engine... it has O2 sensor ,  but other than that , i do no know... could someone tell me where the ecu is located , because it has more than one ecu... it has abs unit on it , and there are 2 ecu in the car.. one is located under the steering wheel , and one is in the passenger closet... whitch is the engine ecu ? and how am i going to find what model is the ecu ?
steer with the rear !!!

the ecu is above the glove compartment, read the the numbers beginning with 280 ......

I think it should be 174 for a M42 from a E30
