So I got some news. It is not the O-ring its the chain case itself.
F*cking hell this is the only seal I didn't replace because there
was already a new one installed.

now I've got to tear down the engine again. I am going to try to
replace the gasket without removing the head.

Was because of this


Thank god we have autofocus to make everything clear  :D
I guess there was a wrong gasket installed because when you look at the chain case
the oil line is more to the inside.


Wow some one sealed it up perfect for me.


Oil line was clogged.


The worst part of this issue is the endless cleaning. I was so happy that the upper oil pan
could not be removed this made everything much easier, and it is going to be a bitch to fit it
right again. Now I have to wait until the local BMW stealer gets the new parts  :P

I finely received the parts I needed. And so its time for the rebuild 2.0.
The rear timing case is a tight fit if U don't remove the head, but after sanding
the edges to a round shape the bastard finally fitted. Its still a struggle to put
the timing case in the right spot it clears the crankshaft nicely but then the profile
gasket gets ''stuck'' on the head, so in order to compress the gasket hammers were involved. 
Then the case had to be moved up so I put a support strut beneath the case and lowered the car
down.



Today I've put the chain ect back in. the oil pan is next and then just some small parts to go.
I hope to have it running next week.

Everything is back in place, I just have to put a helicoil in the head and then the cover can go on.
Also found a strut brace somewhere in the garage so that's going to be installed.

Good work, it looks pretty toite. I hope you get it up and running without too many issues.

I have the same strut brace.. I don't think it does too much except look impressive.

The aluminium strut brace doesn't just look cheap it also feels that way.
But since I have it laying around I might as well give it a try.
The tank is indeed a oil catch can.

So it finally runs. And there are no oil leaks  ;D
After swapping the AFM from a e34 M43 the car idles nice. It was a little bit hesitating
to rev up but after 4 miles it doesn't do that any more. Now the car is blowing some smoke
but I don't think its that important because it hasn't run in 4 years or so.
In two weeks I will take it to the road and see how it goes from there.

Finally it is finished. I had a lot of issues in they end.
Coil no4 set fire to itself? and burned down al the wires so I had to make
new wires from the ECU to the coil pack because I didn't thrust the rest
I made new wires for al the coils. And then the spark plug wires failed
and the O2 sensor also failed but I was able to clean it and then it worked.
And I am currently running M50B25 injectors with a M50B20 FPR just to try.




In two weeks or so I will be driving it on the Nordschleife will see how it goes.

I would have installed the original airbox if I had one :P
And finding one was more complicated then an K&N filter

So the M42 runs perfect then I fitted a GAZ suspension set and it was time to do some laps of the nurburgring





in front of my buddy's 190  ;D



Great weekend but there are also lessons to learn. Don't fit M50 injectors, the computer cant keep up and you end up getting a poor
mpg and it stinks like petrol. And I have to get new tires because stock road tires bounce around. Time for semi slicks and a set of spacers.
I think half an inch would be perfect.

Since last year lots of things have changed, but the problems still continue.
last year I drove home from the Nürburgring witch is a long drive and since there
was no speed limit it was full speed ahead. At about 120 Mph / 200 kmh the engine stalled
I thought it was history but it started again. Later at home I found out that the camshaft sensor couldn't keep up.
so I swapped it and it worked. But then the engine made a rattle noise at 3000 RPM so I had to open it again.
since everything is new I had no idea where to look. Dropped the oil pan and found non metallic parts.
the crankshaft bearings where shot.


2000 miles old bearings, because of oil starvation from my camshaft sensor  >:(

But wait there is more:

fitted proper tires Federal 595 RS-R
Wheel spacers because the tires are to wide
A rust free trunk
A rust front valance
Brand spanking new imitation IS spoiler
