nice, I hate that that apron section gets rusted.  I had it replaced on my cabrio due to the same thing and a few years later I see bubbling rust again!!!  Wished the shop had rust proofed it more.

And to think... this is what you started with? and the amount of work/metal you have swapped out is amazing!

Hopefully your kids didn't really want that trip to Disneyland to really happen?!  ;)

Lots to do on the bottom Im afraid...

First on the list...
All components of the front suspension have to come off..

Fuel Expansion tank crap has to come out...

Lower rear quarter panel must somehow be rebuilt...

The rear right arch too...

Remnants of the fuel system must be removed and refurbished..

What's left of the brake lines must be removed..

Oh so many areas to weld and fix...

Oh and of course, the entire bottom needs to be scrapped clean and scrubbed before it can be resealed and undercoated.. I'll see if I can get the wife to do that one...  :P

Amazing how the view of where the petrol tank lives is so much different like this compared to when you are laying on the ground looking up at it when the entire car 16" off the floor? Seems less claustrophobia inducing?  :o

I know! That rotisserie is the cat's meow...  8)

Here are the plans for those of you who may be interested..

The plan is not my creation but was put out by a gentlemen who goes by the moniker of xworks.
I modified it, putting the reinforcement bars at 90 degrees to the bearing as you can see in the pics.
The car does rock back and forth if you put apply front/back motion (ie scrubbing/sanding) thats why
xworks chose to put in those braces. Problem for me is they won't exactly clear the car. So when it comes time to
sand I will brace one of the ends against the garage door thereby preventing it from rocking...

Donations for the rebuild are appreciatted... ;D

Norm,

I emailed you a word document regarding the repair I did to my car for the rusted overflow pipe. If you didn't get it check your spam or junk box.
