It works. Hook one side of the seal over the crank, push and roll the pen as you go. Just like a windsheild.

this almost makes me want to just do a rebuild anyways but im thinkin of looking for a spare m42 to do it.

i bought mine car back in october. so far ive only had cooling issues which sounds common. the car has around 250k. whats the best way for me to check if i need to rebuild it? or should i just let it fail before doing so?

Check the compression on all cylinders. It's a good rule of thumb.

So how many miles were on the motor before the rebuilt?
