Then I'm going to guess 1990. Mine's a 91.

I think if you have a euro-spec car (assumption based on license plate), then you don't have the O2 sensor and the wire should be connected. You've got other issues.

So I got Harry's Laptimer for my iPhone. Seems to work great but it sucks down the battery like there's no tomorrow, understandable not a complaint, and now I'm looking for a good iPhone mount with a battery charger. Any ideas?

oh poop!  i just bought this part from pelicanparts.com and i am going to install it.  Is the one from Pelican any good or is it crap?

So did you end up using the one from Pelican? The one they have currently is made by MTC and is $9.00.

Electrical / lighting issues
« on: September 01, 2009, 06:30:35 AM »
Looks like you want #22 which is 7.5 amps for the left side front lights. Looks like they all share the same ground G104 through splice S100.

Do your turn signals come on when you turn your headlights on? If so, then I think you need to look at that ground. ETM says it's on inner fender, behind LH headlight. Maybe you knocked it loose when you replaced the bulbs.

Exactly which lights did you replace? Headlights, parking, turn signals? Which lights don't work.

Headlights are all fused separately so if they're all out you have a different problem. Many share grounds so this is why we have to know what lights are out.

Need more data.

Hard to believe all that stuff can shut off with just a bad ground wire...

Just remember, when the ground is gone the electrons will go where ever they can in search of a ground. Truly strange things can happen in these cases.

Engine + Driveline / Did we ever figure out the "Hot Start Problem"

I was looking for black and white wire and that is the only one I could find

Ok, put a splice in that wire you cut.

The wire we're talking about is in circled in this drawing.

No cutting required, the wire has simple push connectors.

In your case, I'm guessing you don't have a catalytic converter and the wire should be connected.

If you do have a catalytic converter, then disconnect the wire.

I cut black wire with white stripe pin 14
is that ok?

Why are you cutting this wire?

Electrical / Turn signal problem
« on: May 30, 2009, 04:00:29 PM »
This is the circuit for the turn signals, notice that the parking light and the turn signal share the ground at pin 1 of the light assembly.

Normally, this is how current flows through the turn signal circuit.

If you lose the ground at pin 1 however, current will flow through the park lamp...

and find it's way into the park circuit where it finds a ground at the side marker light and the tail light. These lights may all be on dim but they'll all be on. Note that I erased the ground wire in this picture.
