I put in Delta Cams 272deg regrinds a few weeks ago. Amazing difference. The whole powerband just feels beefier and less peaky. Should be hitting the dyno soon to get results to compare to the pre cam baseline run.

Either way, anyone considering cams....do it. You can also just regrind the intake and keep the exhaust stock for a cheaper solution.

I actually feel the car is better now on the street than before. I have been driving it daily since the cam install with no problems, no regrets.

Dyno time scheduled this weekend so cam results will be available and compared to a pre-cam dyno just a few weeks before. Should make for a decent comparison as any. Hopefully my fuel problem is figured out.

No stroker in the works. Not enough gain for cost. Going to be using an EVO9 twinscroll turbo. :) VEMS standalone is almost configured and its all wired so that should be coming soon too.

My name on most other forums is Wazzu70. This site wouldnt let me activate it for some reason.

My dyno results with the cams were not so good. I lost 2hp peak and even more down low. My AFR is lean like most are on these engines at 14:1 and you can see where the engine stops adding power due to lack of fuel.

I need to redyno after I tune the vehicle with proper timing and AFR. Car drives much better with the cams though. A dyno does not pick up part throttle response or anything other than WOT.

So when will this be complete, I have a spare m42 sitting at home that I may build up:D

Well, I'm in Germany until the spring, so not until I get back ;)

On the upside though, I picked up a SplitSecond MAF/O2 meter on r3v and will be using that to fine tune these...

I'm hoping the bosch design III 19lb injectors and an M50 FPR will flow enough fuel upto 7.5k rpm

just got the email back from dbilas, 1221 euro without VAT (19% German sales tax)... thanks uncle sam ;)

$1700 US

also found an audi 4.0 bar FPR that should do the trick if the M50 3.5 bar isn't enough

I have the Dbilas ITB's and the airbox does not fit the E30. It won't clear the brake booster. My car is stock, nothing has been changed to cause this. Brand new motor mounts as well so that's not it. I know they made an E36 version too so maybe i got that one instead. I now have to modify the airbox to work and the whole throttle assembly seems a bit weak. I will also be re-designing a new bracket for that as well.

Just a FYI....

Cheers,
~Ralph

Ralph, sounds to me like you have a real problem on your hands. I wouldn't even bother solving it. Just put those babies in a box and ship them over to my place and relax :)

Had to try it....

Interesting you say it does not fit though. Guess you will have to go with tea strainers if you can tune Alpha-N.

Hi Ralph,

Is your plenum a complete cast unit? Mine had a the booster end cut off with a flat plate welded on! Utter crap for flow hence the new one i made. Mine may be an E36 version but looks a bit to DIY foe a purchace item..

Mine is a complete cast unit. I will have to modify it somehow to make it work. I may take my chances on the S54 airbox that I bought which fits perfectly to the ITB's but is just a wee bit to big:)

Wazzu70.......I was contemplating doing that but am gonna stick it out and make these work! Hahaha I could tune A-N but will do MAP with the ITB's. I'm eliminating the ICV and am using those ports as my MAP source to Megasquirt.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be buying them in person at dbilas and will make this inquiry before I go.

After some more reading, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the 24lb/hr 0280155715 bosch injectors.
