I know this post is old, but I cam across it and decided to look up the radio history. I found out why the price is so damn high. This is the upgrade to a model that is used OEM by Ferrari in the F430. It is quite a bad ass radio. And now that I know it was in a Ferrari, do want!

Couldn't find anything but an ebay image, which I couldn't save.

That's the most annoying Firefox bug I've ever dealt with. IE will save that image, no problem. What's worse, it's been reported & the developers are blatantly ignoring requests to fix it.

Agreed. But you have to see the operation features. Still not quite worth $1200, but definitely worth $700-800.

I saw this unit the other day. Looks like it would blend nicely (as good as an aftermarket unit can) I had an older sony head unit (likely a predecessor to this one) in my last E30, the red backlit buttons etc matched very close to the other dash lighting. Not bad for $80 and it has an aux in

@Royalratch are you happy with that single din head unit? Would you recommed it?
Sorry for being off-topic. I'm looking for advice on single din head units and my last resort is the forum.
I've been looking for a good one and I couldn't make my mind up. All the reviews on the net seem to be hype. They are downplaying flaws and hyping any common sense feature like the volume knob. There are many brands that make stereos and they have almost unlimited selections. What should I be looking for? On the other hand I've came across a different post. The blogger says it as it is and holds nothing back. It's a bit critical for my taste. That has put me on the fence. So where should I get started?

Any ideas?
