Noob here, hello all.
A client has a 92 vert and I am in need of a replacement for the 2000 540is I recently sold.
It looks pristine thou I will surly have it inspected.
What is a fair price if all checks out?

Thanks in advance!

This question could only be answered after it has been inspected-(never judge a book by it's cover).   Then again, if it meets your expectations when you find out the results from the inspection 92 vert-power top or manual?.  If it's a manual then maaaaybe! 1,600 depending on the mileage.  If it is over 210,000 miles, which it most likely would be the case, then I'm thinking the ball-park between-1,000 & 1,300.  Maybe these prices may seem a bit strange, but even living in Germany, I don't often see to many conv in our area.  Good Luck

Maybe I shouldn't have answered this question, because in southern bavaria-they're everywhere.  forgive me, because you've received a estimate from a guy that lives in a country where the school buses, tow trucks, police vehicles, delivery vehicles are BMW's.  I'll say this instead--If you think it's worth the price the client is asking, then go down $200.

130K on the clock, Manual top,
I am familiar with the fact that the value is in directly in proportion to what the car needs.
This is not a eager seller that is trying to unload a problem and I have only briefly looked at it. According to her it has just had all hoses replaced and all services are preformed.
She was not actively trying to sell it, through conversations I mearly inquired about it and there is possibility for a trade(hence client).

That said, though not concors, it is a beautiful example. New red paint, new top, newer tires, upgraded sound, perfect sport seats and interior.

Wow,
2K get's you a project here in Atlanta, not a solid car. If I can get a good car in NC for 2K I'll pick up an extra.

wow-to have a 92 vert with 130K is immensely shocking, but this will conclude one major factor-(it hasn't been dogged).  If the client is hesitant of selling, then offer her the price you deem to be worthy, in person-face-to-money(my opinion only) $3800-IN COLD HARD CASH! in all $20's wrapped by a thick rubberband, sit back and watch how her decision making process will shift into over-drive.  The utilization of reverse psychology can be used against you or in your favor, and I wouldn't want you to think that I have partaken in my past of ever taking advantage of any person, because I would never condone that type of behavior.     (BUT) If your client has it in her mind to trade it in for the "Cash for clunkers" Then wait until she decides to do so, because most likely, they will destroy it(blasphemy).  If you can intercept that process, then you could get it possibly cheaper then $3800 from the dealer she trades it into.  Money speaks many strategic different languages in person.  Goodluck on your quest

Thanks,
trust me negotiations are my vocation. I imagine that if I don't buy it she will keep it and it was stay in the garage like it has and rarely driven(also blasphemy).
I guess what I should have asked is what is the most one would pay for a cosmetically perfect red vert?

Looks like this one, except bottle-tops:

OH MY GOODNESS!! she is SWEEEEET!!!--I would have to honestly say that a beauty that well kept has to be worthy of at-least(my opinion)$4900 to $5500, not a penny more then $5500.

Thanks, that was kind of my thought. Now after inspection I will have a basis to work down from.

BTW, is this board always this quiet or is this just an unpopular thread?

I'm not quite sure, but I can only help where I'm most knowledgeable.

Looks very nice and unmolested. $5,500 sounds like a fair price.

Thanks, unmolested sounds about right. And I will only have to fondle it.
Maybe some 15" baskets of some sort and definitely a front lip.

Suggestions?

yep looks like a good deal
needs real spriongs though, the one you made reference to earlier I beleive is out of pdx, and it is on springs. it makes a tremendous difference in appereanace and handling. apperance as shown in your "car" pics

just finished sxprings and billy sports on my 91  318 vert and it makes a giant difference
yes you need to get the lip sorted out too, is it even there,
hard to tell in the pics, looks like the valance is black, should be red, , paint it red like the car, like they are supposed to be, it will help a lot
