my rear brakes are really low. my emergency brake is not even working. What is the best brakes to get, i am not racing the car or anything, just want it for daily driver. Any one knows any brake kits or what to get. wanna replace rotors and brakes, thanks.

I run Brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads, all bought from tirerack.com. You will either neex to adjust the parking brake or buy new shoes, probly from pelicanparts.com or bavauto or someone.

IMHO, brake fluid and properly bled brakes are more important than pads. I change my ATE DOT4 every year. Castrol DMA isn't bad either, and is easy to find in a pinch. Don't forget to bleed the slave cylinder...

EBC makes good pads with their Greenstuff, and you can't go wrong with OEM BMW. I've also used Akebono ceramics before on some FWD cars, I liked them. Hawk and Axxis make good stuff too, but I'm not sure who owns them anymore.

I'd avoid the Raybestos stuff and mostly anything else you can buy at auto parts stores. I haven't had a lot of luck with them, or their worthless "warranties."

Don't get drilled disks, they're a waste of money. Go for the ATE grooved ones, or Brembo stock.

thanks alot for the fast replies guys, i will try and get those asap. i think the e-brake pads ae worn down because i tried adjusting them.

That's true to a point, but I'm under the impression that his pads and rotors need replacing anyway. BTW don't forget to bed them in properly; they will last longer and be quieter if you do.

yes they are worn down all the way and the Brake linning light is on as well.

For just a daily driver, the OEM BMW pads work great as mentioned above. I really have been liking my Textar pads for their cold bite. Pagid and Jurid OEM pads are good, too. The basic rotors are fine, too.
