I had a similar issue but the motor I swapped on was from an unknown car.  The guy I bought it from said 91 318 but the assembly was different.  I ended up just swapping it in and trying it out. So far so good.  I picked up a fuel pressure tester so I am going to give it a thorough test to see if the flow rates are the same as stock.

My advice for you would be to just try it out and see what happens.  It's far cheaper than buying a brand new one.  The filter sock didn't fit the same as stock so you will probably need to do some small customizing.
