Oil pressure warning light
« on: August 26, 2008, 07:00:47 AM »
I'm having some issues with my warning light. It seems to glow at times and will suddenly disappear. I've even shut the engine off and restarted and the light has gone out. I really don't suspect low oil pressure but who knows. I really want to hook up a gauge to better monitor things. Is there a chance that the sensor is on it's way out? Is that common at all? I've already  opened up the oil pan and fixed the loose oil pump bolts around a year ago so I don't think that is an issue. Anything else I should suspect?

Thanks
Don

Better open up the pan again and check the gasket, too.  These bolts seem to loosen up pretty easily...1 year might be enough time.

pull the sensor out and make sure its clean, and perhaps replace it. I had a faulty one about a month and a half ago.

Decided to take the easy way out and try the oil pressure switch first. Yup, that was it, no more light.

Thanks
