Disconect the battery.
Remove the 2 t25 torx to take the bag off(behind steeering wheel)then unplug it.
Then remove the 22mm nut and off with the wheel.
There one plug in the column you have to pop off the cover to get to.

I used the factory spacer from another car.

then put that on and the original washer then nut on top.

There was no good info or pics I could find hopefully this will help everyone else.
My hub adapter was the momo 2006.
This probably would work for a Mtech series wheels too.

Yes.
But they are the same airbag or not.

when you switched the wheel did you here a lot of noise from it like it was rubbing or slightly catching on something?

there is a little white pawl that you need to remove, im assuming this is your problem because it was for me, take the wheel off and u will see a spring loaded white piece of plastic on the left side of the whole mechanism, just grab some pliers and rip it out

the white piece of plastic that you said u ripped out, was it attached to a wire that could be accessed from the bottom of the steering column? because i cant even turn my wheel anymore without that wire catching, snagging, or making or horrible noise. i cant seem to see it too well from the little hole at the bottom of the steering column, and im hesitant to pull the steering wheel to mess with it before i know what that wire is and if i can remove it...

nvm, i figured it out, and i found the lil plastic tab you was talking about. i had to cut to airbag wire that was attached to the back of the steering wheel : P

If you are installing a non-airbag steering wheel, the spacer is needed so you can tighten it down enough. The airbag wheel is thicker where it mounts on the column than a 'regular' steering wheel. Without the spacer, you can't tighten it - you run out of threads before it even gets to the steering wheel. So, the wheel will move back and forth (in and out on the column) a goodly distance.

You should also wait at least 10 - 15 minutes after disconnecting the battery before you start removing the air bag. You want to make sure there is no charge left in the system that could cause the air bag to deploy while you are removing it.

One other thing, if you are going to use a M-Tech 1 wheel you will find the turn single and wiper control levers to be a little too close to the wheel. The levers from an airbag car and non air bag car on not the same. The air bag levers are a little longer on the part that extends toward the wheel to bring them to the correct position.

Thanks soo much for putting this up. I've been wondering how to do this for awhile and finally found it haha. The info you put on here is good. You helped me switch my steering wheels haha.
