Rims How wide can we go?

:cool:Hi there fellow members, I am in need of a little help here guys.
Rite let me start of by saying I love wide wheels alloys and rims. I would like to know how wide can us E30 owners go??
1. How wide can we go with rims at the rear without any extra modifications? I.e. spacers etc
2. How wide can we go with extra modifications i.e. spacers etc?
I am talking about the front and the rear how wide can we go all-round with and without extra modifications.
Cheers guys
All help is much appreciated
Many Thanks
Jazz

There is a lot of factors in helping decide how wide you can go. If you're on stock suspension you can go really wide because you're not "tucking" the rim. Also tire size plays an important role. Try asking this question on r3vlimited.com

Heres some more information guys if this helps:
so far i have come across
Front wheels 17" - 8"wide
& the rear
Rear Wheels 17" - 12"wide
would this rim fitment work with our cars ? and is there any minor/major modifications that would need to be done to achive this?
Cheers guys
All help is much appreciated

WOW!!!! A 12" wide wheel in the rear of an e30. That would be interesting. LOL the widest I've seen ppl go with stock fenders is 9.5" and that's with tucking/rolling of fenders.

Well go for the 12". Im with you on the unique look. But, that means you either have to get custom fenders if you drop your car, or don't drop the car and keep the stock body. Make sure to post pics when you are done.

do you also think about the tires?? 12" wide for 17" rims?? lamborghini shoes... +2000.-$ each tire.. and you are gonna need some extra 15hp only to turn the wheels...

I think that question is not right. It should be how wide we shoud go? I think there is no need more than 9" with 300hp.

But honestly, where are you going to find a 17X12 rim, or even a 17X9, that is 4-lug. That's my biggest question.
