Ignition Lock

Any of you guys had problems finding the correct replacement ignition lock?

Mine failed inside and I've removed and approached BMW, they are stuggling to find the correct part even with the part number stamped on the side.

Any suggestions on how to track the part down...I've looked in RealOEM, just wondering if anyone had similar problems.

Cheers
Paul

I'm surprised they can't locate the correct one - even though there are 5 listed in RealOEM here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=AF93&mospid=47305&btnr=32_0854&hg=32&fg=30 (looks like 4 if you want your key to match your other locks) they should still be able to order the correct one for your car in the parts system with your VIN.

OTOH, I know people that have intentionally ordered different ignition cylinders, so that even with the VIN and an unscrupulous dealer ordering a key, a thief would not be able to start the car....
