again :-) the adjustable coils from kw are specially made for the 318is e30 with stock coils!they NEED the ORIGINAL struts!!only this way i receive my certification!i cant send them a M3 or a Z3 strut!i will not fit the new adjustable coils!!in the factory they remove the "feets" of the original struts and put them on the new struts!!

for a real racecar i agree with you and i would change it for the M3 or the Z3!but thats not possible on swiss-streets!!i know its a bit of stupid..!

cool site! right now i am deleting every single gramm on the intake and the throttle..!i will post pics as soon as i finish..
i am planning to reduce more then 10kg only on the engine.. i hate my "dremel-tools" at the moment. i spend more time with it and grinding, then with my girlfriend :-(

how was the formula? 10kg = 1ps ? or 6kg = 1ps ? i am not sure, there are a lot of different meanings in the net..

has anybody anodized parts of the engine? such as timing chain cover or intake manifold? does it look good? hows the quality?

No you'll need machined surfaces for anodization. Otherwise the'll just turn black/greyish, not looking very good at all.

If they are properly cleaned you should be able to anodize them.

I'm not sure if cleaning is the problem. I've linked some pics of how it looks. A little bit strange though that the gasket surface didn't turn out better than it did...
It's not my parts so I don't know if they where cleaned properly or not.

Certain types of aluminum anodize differently, which is probably why the welds look different on the canister. Some types just do not take anodizing well.

I doubt they used high end aluminum for the pan.

i feel your pain. A friend of mine in Z�erich would install bigger Brembos under his Porsche 944 Turbo, but is not able to make it because those calipers need to have adapters, which are not legal in Switzerland. Swiss usually earn 4 times more than average EU-country citizen, so i suppose $3000 for brakes won't be a problem for you

Here's what i have under my Porsche 944 Turbo. For my E30 i allready have Porsche 944 Turbo S calipers, which fits nicely under original 15" wheels. I am CAD drawing adapters for that application.

cool solution, i will think about for my racecar, there i can make whatever i want!!i am on the way to prep the red bmw, so i can start welding in the rollcage.. i will post pictures and make a new thread

does anybody have excentric rear rubber mountings on the trailing arms? or excentric screws? to adjust the rear wheels? right at the moment i am disassembling the entire rear, but befor i can powdercoat the parts i am planning to weld a bit and make the things adjustable!
