She's an E36 though (E30 318iS's never made it to this country)

happy happy....

Sitting wif the '30   (taken over by my dad & older brother)

car comes with: "M42, ported & polished head, Supersprint exhaust; Viper2 ECU chip, Z3 short shifter, K&N airbox, polyurethane bushes, M-TECH front/rear sway bars, Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs, Hand-stitched M3 steering wheel, M3 gear shifter, Z3 instruments, M3 pedals, M3 splitter & skirts, M3 wing mirrors, genuine M3 "Sunflower" alloys"

just a question for the M42 guys, the previous owner goes for servicing and oil changes every 5000km's (bout 3100+miles i think), shud i follow suit?

All depends what type of oil (synthetic or regular) . I don't know what other service you would need every 3000 miles ?
I would hope that your running synthetic.

I change the oil when the colour is just between brown and black, i don't necessarily look at mileage but that occurs around 5500-6500km. :)
I\'m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum...i\'m all outta gum :D http://www.e30.ro!

500km isn't a big differance.

Thing is syn oil lasts longer than conventional oil yes...
BUT the oil still gets dirty just as fast. So I still change my redline oil every 3k miles regardless.
