So with these you don't have to cut the harness? I already started to disect mine.....

You do not have too, but doing so will make a much cleaner install.  BMWman91 did a very good job writing up the process on his website, I would check that out.

A few of the holes there are in different places than I use. Most notably, the one in the upper right corner, and the mounting holes and the big holes are not inline.

Cheap coils. FCPGroton sells them on ebay for $25 each in lots of 6, 8, and 12. There are several BMW part numbers that will work. M54 is 12131748018. Maybe some folks could go together and buy 8 or 12 and split them up.

Got some questions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M54-N62-Ignition-Coils-Brand-New-OEM-E39-E46-E60_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33689QQihZ003QQitemZ130204468865QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Will these work?
And what about the bosch connector disassembly, why is that needed and is it still needed with these coils? Is it necessary to lengthen the electronic wires, leading to the connectors?

thx!

No, those are not the coils you want.  The coils you want have mounting holes on two arms that extend from the coil, like in the pictures I posted.  You do not need to disassemble the connectors, but it is the best way to shorten the wires.  The wires do not need to be shortened, but it makes for a cleaner installation.
