additional injectors
« on: August 27, 2007, 01:58:03 AM »
Hello ,
i would like to ask if anyone knows , is there any device that can read one injector signal and drive 4 injectors ?

I have the Perfect Power SMT-7 that controls up to 1 Extra injector , but my Setup will need 4 extra injectors.
I probably need an injector driver , not injector controler , because i will control them through the smt-7..

please tell me if you know anything...

Towing........

OK.

The M42 does semi-sequential injection AND batched injection (fires pairs of injectors, or it fires all 4 at the same time).  It will do semi-sequential injection once the motor has started (NOT during cranking, it is batched then) and all sensor inputs are reading properly.  If the cam position sensor ("cylinder identifier") fails, it goes back to batched injection.  So, what dies this have to do with you?

Well, if everything is operating normally, you can pull the injector signal from the 2 pairs of injectors.  Run them through the "gate" on a FET to isolate them from oneanother so they don't cross-fire eachother.  That way you can get your 4 injectors to fire every time one pair does, if that is what you need.  The only problem is at startup...depending on how fast your controller's measurement rate is, it might trip-out with both sets of injectors firing nearly simultaneously.  Then again, maybe not.

Anyway, if you need some help with the FET part let me know.  It is relatively simple to use them once you know a little about them.

i want a device that can handle the current of 4 extra injectors , so i can program smt-7 piggy back , to fire them whenever i want ( in boost ) so i don't go lean in fuel when the pressure come's on... the factory injectors run fine with the ecu controling them... but the 1 extra injector i have , the fuel in high boost  is not satisfactory , so i need more fuel... the piggy back i have can handle 1 extra injector located in the inlet hose under angle. but fuel does not slit even in all 4 cylinders...so i want to put 4 extra injectors ( one in each intake line ) so all 4 cylinders get the same ammount of fuel....

Hi vatos you can drive four extra injectors with your smt7 there is no problem just connect them together

in my project i use smt6 for 4 extra ijectors and map sensor, the extra injectors run only in boost the injector driver on smt6 and smt7 is the same 7 amper driver if you use 16 ohm bosch type there is no problem. http://img227.imageshack.us/my.php?image=smkolektorsdopylnitelniej6.jpg i change the fuel lines http://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gorivnipyti6taprimotorahr5.jpg

unfortunately , SMT-7 can only drive  extra injector , because it can only drive 1 amp...
