You dont want to mess with the spring it will just make you car run worse.  Why do you want to modify it?

I had the same problem you are having. I bought a rebuilt one from pelican. It's like driving a brand new car.

Save yourself the headache and buy a new, well rebuilt, unit.

If your going to get a new AFM at least check into a MAF conversion.

Well I can't because I prepping for SpecE30 and the MAF conversion isn't allowed.

Look into a rebuilt one at Pelican.  $180 for it...a MAF conversion will run you considerably more.  No power gains to be had either, though driveability improves greatly.

Visit HERE for a plethora of 318iS stuff and some other randomness.  Would you say I have a, plethora, of pinatas?

That depends on if your running boost.  The Stock AFM is great on a Stock motor but it does restrict if you’re running over 12 psi.

Indeed.  Can the stock AFM even give a useful output above like 7psi of boost?
