well, after getting tired of wading through all the turbo talk and other stuff that really doesn't apply to my car and modding style, I found this site thanks to someone on IRC... so here goes.
I've owned my '92 E30 318ic for 9 years. She was purchased used at Niello BMW in Sacramento where she was a trade-in. I sold my E28 535i 5-speed for her. She had 105,000 miles on her and now has 135,000 miles and is used primarily as a nice weather weekender.
Her engine and 5-speed driveline is all stock, and has been dead reliable. I've done a few OEM+ modifications:
* IS front and rear lips
* coupe trunklid
* USA plate filler
* euro grilles
* MTech I steering wheel
* OEM ashtray 'tray'
* H1/H4 Hella headlamps
* OEM M3 springs / Bilstein shocks
* Optima redtop battery
* BBS 15x7 et24 "euroweaves" that I had restored to as new condition by
Skips Wheel Werks* Bridgestone RE750 tyres
Most of the paint on the car is original, and the vinyl interior has held up great.

I'm also a BMW motorcycle fanatic, and am in the process of restoring my 3rd 'airhead'... this was an R80RT which is slowly morphing into a retro cafe-racer
I hope to use the M42 knowledge on this site to help me fix my idle 'hunting' problem that I've been having of late. I've heard that M42 E30 cabrios are rare [like 4,000 made in 1992 or whatnot]... does anyone have any production numbers?
