- put it together once more

My long term PLAN:

- 318 istp /e30 318 is turbo pickup/ I like this car very much:

I own the car for 5 years now and it is just beeing completely rebuilt.

MODS ALREADY DONE:

The pics, right... I will take some and place them as the progress will go on...

I am still thinking about the colour...

I've bought the base paints already...

I was aiming RAL8022 which is black with a tone of chockolate, and the finishing paint which is just as flat as posiible...

How do You think? Flat black, with glossy black rims, and whole shadowline black and glossy too?

The other idea was glossy black, with polished alluminium rims and red taillights...

The third idea was flat black/8022/ with black glossy rims and the rest: frontlights , rearlights and roof painted RAL1013 which is most likely some kind of ecru colour....

How do You think? I'm going to spray my filling base paint in few weeks... Just after comes the colour...

My wife says that RAL 5010 Enzianbleu is an option, or more classic -> Ferrari Red...

I'm interested in what is Your opinion about the colours.
I know that there is very few flat painted cars, so I like the idea, for now the car is already red, so I don't feel the idea of Ferrari red..
I wanted something definately individual so the idea of black/ecru was ideal for me espacially because of theese lamps painted ecru...

But I'm most likely to paint the car just the oposite way than stock black -> flat black with glossy black shadowline and rims... The idea is to pain it that way, to differ parts by glossyness not by the colour.

But is seems to act as the devil itself when all the parts becomes black...

Sounds like your car has had a lot of work done to it!

I say no to flat black...that's kind of Civicish.  What if you did a green or a blue?  That would definately be different.

Flat black I meant cotally matt -> When glossy is 100% I meant 10% of glossyness...
Civicish - > You say honda look :-)???

Green, I was thinking about it... Any special colour? Like "racing green" which was used by english cars???

Blue car is just as cute as a small child's toy - I don't want to make a toy... But a navy blue is a different story.

A lot done to it... Yes... It revs to 7300RPM's hitting just 195 km/h with 3.73 differential -> 205 km/h with 3.64LSD On a 1st gear it reaches nearly 70km/h heh - below 8secs do 100km/h Nice car at winter as I don't slow down because of the slippy roads... Just Slideways all the time...

Till now I had to leard how to drive it - now it is time to make a beauty...

cracow - magical place they say...

Did You know that we have just over 500 / it's not a joke - five hundreds/ pubs/discos/restaurants in the nearest area of main square ??? They all placed just about 15 minutes of walking far from the most sided places....

Some use the map with the names of the places... The rule is that after drinking one beer or one vodka shot, the barkeeper signs them the name of the place... And they go for the next shot just somewhere else... After a few You don't count the signs... And the day after You can't even believe how many beers You've already drunk and how many places You have visited... !!!

Something along those lines is what I mean.  Pick whatever you want though, inevitable it's up to you and you have to live with the color so make sure you like it before you do it.

Cracow is in Poland right?  Does everyone learn english there?

Jpod: -> I like this setup as one of the most elegant color themes ever made - Isn't Jaguar similiar?

But I will keep flat black as I want to make something really unique and agressive. The car is going to have 400HP's so it schould look spacefic...

We will see - today I've found some place in my painting schelude to place there my first part. In two weeks I will have it painted, so I will take some pictures, and we will see if this is a good idea.

HAHAHA - For example me.... Nearly 80% young people speak communicative english here.

I thing that You should try to visit Cracow in some time, as it became just as civilised as Berlin is for example... There is some specific polish climate, but we have made our city really european. It is unique tourists say. I know a woman from Canada, who comes here year after year different parts of the year just to drink a coffe on the main square.

It's 98% chance that You will be able to communicate with everyone on the main square. Just check the site -> http://www.cracow.pl/summer/krakow_highlights.html

And You will feel what's happening around here.
Yesterday on the main square I had to pass 9 people to meet 1 polish man or woman... As I said before, we have around 500 pubs here and it is really hard to find a place in the evening.

On the other way, a policewoman in Paris when I told her that I'm from Poland asked what is it - she didn't even know that there is a country like Poland...

It's not like that You hear around, and pleace don't take measure by people from Poland that You meet around... Cracow is the main center of intelligent people here in Poland... It's not because I live here - It's because that during World Wars we were the less ocupied city here...

I have never been to Europe.  I really would like to go sometime and travel everywhere.  But anyways, I don't want to hijack your thread.

WE NEED PICS OF YOUR CAR!!!  ;)

So, Yesterday I've taken some pictures...

The car has just got back from the machanics, because it has broken apart just between fenders and the front of the doors they had to weld it into one iron. They made other irons too, so it needs to be repainted.
The break was caused mainly by my stupid speeding through the speed limiters in the city...
As this is just the beginning of the project and the work was not done by the most tidy people I know, it's a little bit messy there, but everybody starts somewhere :-)  At last they are the best people I know capable of doing race weldings in the car.

The look at the moment:

Custom made front suspension with adjustable height:
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/front_suspension/1.jpg
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/front_suspension/2.jpg

Custom made skid plate - you can see mountings rounded red in the pictures 3 and 4:
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/skid_plate/1.jpg
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/skid_plate/2.jpg
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/skid_plate/3.jpg
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/skid_plate/4.jpg

GETRAG 225 adapted to fit the m42 block from s14 cecotto engine - we had to weld two different transmission mountings together and shorten the driveshaft a little:
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/transmission/1.jpg
http://www.e30.kamieniwnetrze.pl/transmission/2.jpg

And the free flow custom made exhaust system - made from two stock exhaust manifolds.
It needs to be remade and made more esthetic:

So, just painted my taillights...

Here are they:

and in the sun:

The colour and the glossyness are just as deep as I wanted to achieve...

But it's too early to judge if the flat black is a good idea...

The next part - the trunk, and we will see -> as this should go flat black with glossy rearwing on it...

Hey All!!!

The second part - the trunk.

Pictures shows how it looked just before the work:

So I used the sandblaster to take out the rust:

And for those who would like to know how sandblaster looks like:

The small handy sandblaster for cleaning out small rusty places

The big sandblaster for big surfaces:

So the sandblaster does this:

And the next step after using the solid filler:

And after the liquid filler is put on the trunk:

Now three days and I will be able to plain the surface once more, to prepare it for the solid colour and the transparent finishing paint.
 :-) :)
