Hi all!
After months of financial problems, I am finally restarting my bmw project.
Some of You will be dissappointed, some will say that this is a great idea. But the truth is that I've abandoned flat black project.
After long , long time I've decided to paint it glossy red with black shadowline, black wheels and black roof :-)
Pics soon. After the first day of working hard, I have changed my roof fabric - it is black as it should be in 318is :-)
Few weeks ago I've found two very rare "things" to my car:
Cruise control in perfect condition, with all needed wiring and all needed plastic parts :-)
And the second one - Air conditioning - again the complete set!
So I will mount them in and my car will finally be fitted with all I ever needed in the car :-)

Calipers, sanding and roof fabric

Today after work, I decided to play with calipers. I've taken them out, sanded them and dismounted them fully apart to change the rubbers with the new ones and completely cleaned them from the dirt lasting inside. I also ordered the new set of rubber seals for my completely restored calipers
Tomorrow the rubbers will come to my favorite shop, so I hope I will have some more to show You.
Here are the pics:
The actual state of the car:
Deadline is 15.03.2008 because we are going skiing to Italy 28.03.08
The roof fabric:

After some days of hard working - it is now -> the success!!!
The car is beeing done after long, long time spent just there in the corner.
Already done:
Flipped, derusted and rust-protected :
Engine chamber nicely painted this gray-like color which I actually like very much for that purpose:
Today I was playing with the sanding machine and some polyester putty to make all shapes e30-like

Finally the car is going to be red. Red as hell and only red. No flat black at all, no black roof....
You know - wifes...
But:
Today I can clearly see why they do not use furniture paints to paint the car. It is of corse possible, but it would be much easier to paint the car with the car paints. And of corse nearly three times more expencive - thats really why I am using furniture paints...
Much, much easier...
Somewhere I've seen a web page of US guy who has painted his car with nitro paint and with the roller used normally to paint walls in houses!!!! He has done his best to the car, and finally it was unexpectably outstanding with very very deep color, but he had to paint the car 12 times...
I will have to paint my car once more red, and three times clearcoat it. And it will still be half the price of car paints, but I will have to spend hours on polishing it. But after all it will be superior quality as far as I can see after today painting
