Anyone know much about these ground-control kits? They have Eibach springs and ride hide adjustability and can be used with stock shocks for $399. any opinions?

These are pretty much the most commonly used brand coilover for E30's. You are in good shape and most people will vouch for GC quality. However, on R3vLimited there is also a company called C3 Motorsports selling a similar/better kit.

Don't waste your time with stock shocks. Get Bilstein Sports or Konis SAs.

I have a GC setup with bils sports on my car. I like it.

The shocks depend on the spring rates you pick. I feel it is a matter of quality instead of shock rates. OEM shocks that are 18 to 20 years old aren't right for any spring. If you are using less than 165# front springs go Bilstein Touring. If you're going stiffer use HD's.

I just went with the C3Motorsport coilovers and they are awesome. coming rom a stock suspension with every shock blown to that is amasing.

They have a GB on R3V if u wanted to chek that out.

Hey I already have Koni SA's can I just get this kit and that would be all I need for a coilover setup?

It depends what rate you choose. I don't know up to what rate the Koni SAs can take but they might need to be revalved if you go too stiff. I know you can get Bilsteins revalved for something like 50$ a shock...which is cheaper then getting the J-Stock shocks from Turner which are valved for springs up to 800lbs.

I have run OTS Konis with up to 800# in the rear.
People have run OTS Bilsteins with the same rate.

If you're not competing and attending track events up the wazoo they can work. However, all disclaimers apply as road conditions, perception of "harsh ride", understanding of the word "trade off" etc all vary across the board

A J-stock kit is purposely built for that class so it's not always going to allow you to apply friendly economics into the intended purchase equation.
