Oil Starvation

I've been trying to find information about oil starvation on the M42. Does our engine oil starve at all and when?

Thanks.

Technically, no.
M20's starve during hard cornering, ours does not, however we do seem to have lots of trouble with lifter tick. Nothing new though, lost of cars suffer from that, some newer than our cars and do it far worse.

Lifter tick, Yea!

My E39 M5 had horrible lifter tick and occasionally it would diesiel knock, however only with the oil was needing to be changed. It was great cause I knew when I needed to change my oil.

Agree with the above. My lifter tick cure has always been to make sure the motor is warm enough before auto-xing and I always overfill by a quart for auto-x and HPDE useage.

On cold mornings I make sure the car is warm and sufficiently oiled up as well.

My last motor had lifter tick that would appear randomly and then it finally grenaded. I am yet to take it apart but my $$ is on oil starvation. Funny thing is I never even auto-x'd or tracked the motor prior.

This is exactly why after my rebuilt, ill build in a system (spark and fuel cut-out) where i can make an oil-pressure start first. Once I get sufficient pressure, ill turn on the ignition and fuel pump and start her up. Plus a little light to check for dynamo action.
