E46 SMG M3 GEARBOX ON M42/M44?

Hello, i really need help with figuring out if i can take an E46 M3 6-speed SMG gearbox that has been swapped to being a manuel, on an M44 that sits in an E36.(would also like to know if its the same on M42)
I know that it's is very specific. But im really hoping that someone can help. 

P.S if any of you could show me how to make a harness for the the Eldor E90 COP-conversion on an M44 as well, that would be worldclass.

It is just a manual gearbox, I'm sure that an experienced shop could make it work.
