Fuel Pressure Regulator Leak - 91' 318i
« on: April 26, 2017, 10:50:00 AM »
So i recently refreshed some of the fuel system, I replaced the stock injectors with some mustang ones and the o-rings on the FPR with some generic ones and the short fuel lines going to the rail. I hadto bend the flange a little bit on the fuel rail to pry off the FPR.

When I got the car idling, it had a pretty bad misfire and fuel was leaking from the FPR. I was wondering if anyone knew if it had to be in a specific orientation? Or does the o-rings on the FPR specific to it? The generic o-rings are a little thinner than the original ones. And the FPR I knew was working originally.

Thanks for any help!

I'd take some time to R&R those FPR o-rings. This is one of those cases that I'd use the pricey OEM updated ones, or a quality alternative. They're made from a far superior material, usually in a pretty lime green color. The older black rubber material isn't quite as resistant to oxygenated fuels.

Okay Ill splurge this time :p Do you happen to know the p/n for the rings I need? Or if they're even sold separately? I checked out a brand new FPR from rockauto that includes the o-rings, and its about 70$ cad and the most expensive one is at 150$ cad.
