So I'm getting my head resurfaced and taking the valve train apart would save me a boatload as opposed to having the machine shop do it. I have searched to no avail, how do you remove and reinstall the valves? Is there a trick? Special tools? Anything else I should look at while I'm in there?

You need to use a vale spring compressor tool to compress the spring, then you remove the retaining collets and relax the spring. There should be videos on YouTube showing this procedure.

I'll be doing that job this weekend. I plan to use the tool made by Lisle. Its basically a shaft you can hammer the springs with to re move the valve clips safely.
