1991 318is Catalytic Converter Delete?
« on: February 22, 2015, 06:49:13 PM »
So I have been trying to find a kit that will replace from before the catalytic converter to the muffler?
Replacing the CC and silencer.

Anybody know of a kit or should I pay a shop to make one?
I hate exhaust. It reminds me of plumbing which I cannot tolerate either...

Thanks all,
Dean

Only kit's I know of are "cat back" or racing, never came across a street legal mid section or complete exhaust.

Possibly you could cut off the original mid section before the cat and weld in universal parts. Most likely it will sound horrible and fail quickly.

Yeah, catback's are all I am finding as well.
Just have a failing seal between silencer and cat and not wanting to spend the $ to replace it all.
I just went out and looked and it appears the bolts/springs that hold the two pieces together are super loose?
When I am changing out the thermostat and oil I will mess with it.
Close your ears bc there will be cursing.

If all else fails, I will find a shop to cut in a flex pipe.

Just measure out the pipe and make your own ...
