We installed the inlet farther back in the block in order to allow the oil to cool against the pan as it ran down to the sump.  It was also above the sump level.
That makes sense, do u also run a oil cooler or use that technique instead? Also where did u choose to get the oil feed line from?

theres two spots on the oil filter housing. One in front with a 6mm(iirc) allen bolt in it and one in th eback where the stock oil psi sensor goes.

 Is that the same on the e 30 and the e36?
