"Winged" Brass Bleeder Screw Interest?
« on: September 25, 2012, 02:29:00 PM »
I'm looking into having a run of custom brass coolant bleeder screws made with a tab (or wings) so that it can be tightened or loosened by hand (with gloves!).
Imagine the brass coolant bleeder screws from Turner Motorsports with no need to find a big screwdriver or a quarter.

Would anyone be interested in one? I would imagine the price being in the $15/each range.

Can you measure the clearance from the top of the existing bleeder screw to the underside of the hood for me?

The car is currently getting a state inspection - but if they ever get the emissions test done I'll let you know.

I just checked mine. You have at least an inch or more. Radiator cap height is below the hood, so figure 1/2" above that would be safe.
