I am running at about 99C consistently.

I have an M42 in a `67 1600 with a new water pump, thermostat and radiator. At the moment, there is no heater and I am confident that the system in bled completely.

Any ideas?

any check engine lights? how are you confirming the 99c temp? are you running coolant or just water?

That does seem a bit hot, but mine will idle that high in traffic. Fans are working, right?

Pressurized coolant has a high boiling point though.

99C is extrapolated from the reading on the stock 2002 gauge. I borrowed an IR gun to confirm. Will report back soon on the findings.

Yep, the fan is working. I have it on a manual switch at the moment.

Do you have the fan clutch installed? Can't remember from pics. Also what Aux fan you using, OEM or aftermarket? Is it only low or high? I saw your other post about the AC. AC running will cause the engine to run much hotter FYI.

I have no mechanical fan, rather a 16" electric fan at full speed.

A puller I assume if mounted between engine and radiator. I guess you need to confirm temp and then compare that to the middle reading on the e30 gauge, which seems to be normal. I believe it was stated in the other posting. Also make sure the temp sender for the guage is working correctly.
