OK so i am looking for a set of cams for my 97 z3 with a m44... i know it isnt a m42 but this page is the closet i could find that might help. i know cat and vac make cams just looking for other options

If you dont have any luck here you could always try over at http://www.318ti.org, they have good info for M42 and M44 cars based around compacts though.

I believe you could get a set of Schrick Cams if your cashed up. Also Cat Cams do M44 and M42 cams.

Don't try and fit M42 cams to the M44,  They are different in a big way.

Could call Delta or Elgin.

Delta did ours after a couple phone conversations I mailed them a used set of M42 cams. They were welded up and reground to the profiles of a S52 3.2L M3 camshaft (Duration 252 / Lift 10.2)

latest poopy from Delta is that they don't feel comfortable welding the hollow cams
any more...
