I have a complete set of S50 pistons and rings for 4 of them for anyone doing a project that would be able to make use of them - they're 86mm bore. Will post pics soon. I paid $150 shipped with the new rings so looking to get as close to this as possible.

so what would be the advantage, would i need to bore the piston chambers to use these?

Yes, you'd need to bore them to 86mm. Advantage is "there's not replacement for displacement" when making power (at least the non-aspirated kind). Can also be used as the basis for stroked m42 variants.

what would i need as far as head gasket, and crank to use these i am sure this can be searched but would a m47 crank work? and mls head gasket for deck clearance at the top? i am very interested in this.

Recipe for S50 pistons: Bore block to 86mm, get M44 2.04mm HG, Deck the piston 2.65mm, cut valve reliefs into pistons, get a set of 138mm connecting rods, attach to a M47 crank and away you go! A perfect set up. Minor machining on the crank.

Then you have to option of lightening valve train parts and porting the head for power.

A major write up coming soon....

I wish I had the cash to try this out...an M47 crank is worth more than my whole car...
