I was wondering when the rest of that post would turn up.

Dang.  Bad day at the ole' trailer park, eh?

Where is this?  I'd help them lighten it up by stripping the car...looks like it was a pretty nice BMW.  Who made those side skirts, BBS?

i got permission and borrowed ladder from owner, it was really creepy and scary climbing up into car. i had to use jack to get driver side door open. i opened door and took a deep breath and slowly climbed into car. i could not believe my eyes; peferct dash, mint black leather recardo seats, mint mtech1 steering wheel, 15 inch wheels, skirting all around, the inside of car looked brand new.

Yikes, Knowing the construction of trailer roofing, I would not have gotten into the car. Your a Brave man. That's a Nice looking BMW to be on top of a trailer roof, Ex wife with a large skateboard ramp?? That's my best guess. Really though one begs to have the question answered, how did this happened.

Edit In: If your parting this car, how much for 4x 15in rims? Would you consider trade for 14in bottle caps In decent condition :P ?

We think the same way!  I'd have been there to lighten that car up as much as possible.  I'd have framed under it a bit though.

Interesting problem, that.  I wonder how much a crane would be.  Is this really local to you?  I figured something like this would be in the news!

I'd have been tempted to chop out the supports & see if the car wanted to come down.  Where is the car located?  I'd be interested in just seeing something like that in person.

My wife saw the picture and the first thing she said was: "Whaddya reckon those Duke boys'll do next?  Roscoe is gonna be mad.":D  She's much more redneck than me...her family is West Virginia & Eastern Ohio.

She still suspects it's photoshopped.  No way someone could know how the roof buckles in a crash, or how the rear fender wrinkles in an impact like that.  I'm just wondering how the heck it got there.

no, its a real photo, the owner used fork lift to place car on trailer, months went by and roof started to sag. im climbed into car and felt safe knowing the construction of the bmw. worst case scenerio car could fall through roof but i had plenty of tools to get out.
i want the differentail, anyone have any ideas?

Rims definitely.  I'd take the whole rear sub-frame...if it has the iS bits you'll get a better sway bar, possibly better springs, maybe some Bilsteins.  Check for euro headlights, try to get the side skirts, maybe the sport interior...depends on what it's got.

Get the lift to fork it back down.  If the car is close to PA I'll make an offer on some parts myself!

You mean the horn slip ring?  I do that on occasion too.  I just carefully flatten it again with tape-wrapped needle-nose pliers or a vice grip.  Otherwise it'll squeak as the wheel turns against the horn contact.

Are the seats in good shape?  I'd definitely get them if you already haven't.  They're worth a bunch in good condition, and are comfortable even mostly worn out.

I'd salvage the cluster, HVAC panel, glove box while you're getting that dash too.  Look for odd options like Hella E-class or ellipsoid headlights, BMW Premium Sound System or heated seats.  You never know what you have 'till you take it apart!  If you pull up the rear seat you might find the build sheet stuck to the underside of the lower seat cushion.  Post the numbers & I'll look them up for you.

haha Well I've never heard of trailer roofs being used as car racks, though I suppose there is a first for everything. Does the owner have keys? and could this car be started? I'd be slightly curious to see an e30 drive off a roof :) Either way you look at it this looks like a very nice parts car, If it ever comes down off the roof.

Edit In: After looking at the picture again, it wont be driving off that roof lol. I would say hook a nice big truck up to the rear tow hook and see what happens from there. As well to any Moderators, Can we remove my Sig on this post? Upon looking at it for the first time I now realize I left my license plate completely visible.

2nd Edit: Nvm Fixed my sig

You know what else might work...pull the glass & sunroof parts out, put a long chain down low behind the supports on the side of the trailer, and use a truck to pull the chain out.  The car might roll, but nothing of value will really get damaged if the chain is long enough.

BBS side skirts. I believe they're pretty rare...
