Im pretty new here, living in sweden so my english is not that good :rolleyes:
This is a great forum! Im pretty new to the M42, but i know the M20 inside out
I have a E30 M20 turbo putting out pretty good power but recently started building a E30 M42 turbo with a friend, and then when we already was in the garage i picked up a complete M42 from a E36 and a complete but taken apart E30 M42 engine and started swaping the E36 motor in my winter-drifting car, 318i M40.
So we have our hands full at th moment, the 318is turbo is gonna be dynoed in a few weeks and has some small work left, IC piping, exhaust, oil feed to turbo and some other small things. More info on this car soon!
I started the 318 M42 swap yesterday efter some electrical work and everything seems to be working, so now its time to build exhaust and fix the drive shaft and then test it on the road
I used a -93 E36 M42 engine complete with ECU, harness, gearbox with clutch cylinder etc, M40 mounts and brackets. My rive shaft seems to be like 1cm too long though so ill have to to something about that, ill be back on that one.
The E30 M20 6 speed turbo is pretty much turn key from last year, just made some small mods and gonna check it out in the dyno soon as well.
