Chip Install How-to??
« on: February 15, 2010, 01:19:32 PM »
Has anyone put together chip install how-to article?   I know where the DME is, but not sure how to remove it.  There's a plastic cover over it.  Tips?

I have a new MarkD chip.  Eager to try it out.

Also, should I get a grounding strap to work in the innards?  Thanks, Gary

Thanks...I saw that...but no photos.  I'm sure I can figure it out.  Is the grounding strap necessary?  Or are there other ways to prevent static electricity from being an issue?

It's like working on a home computer ,when you sit down or work on it ground yourself to something before you work on it. avoid things that cause static electricity like wool clothes or a rug .Just touch something metal before you start to work on it so you discharge yourself.
good luck
