Cant rev past ~3000rpm - Automatic Transmission
« on: August 19, 2006, 11:24:17 AM »
Hi,

I've searched but couldnt find anything relavent.  I have an 85 318i Auto.  The problem is when I drive the car in the normal automatic 'drive' mode, the rpms will never go above ~3000rpm.  Even when I floor the pedal, it wont downshift.  It'll always shift at ~3000rpm.

I can drive the car fine if I shift the gears manually but I would like to fix the problem so I wouldnt have to do that.  Is it the tranny?  TPS sensor?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

James

I will ask my Tech!

Would a 325iS replacement tranny work?  If it does and you need one, I know where there is a beautiful rebuild.
