I've heard of a SAAB/VW units being used for builds...or Nissan T04/T03 hybrids.  I'm no expert but I'd guess the compressor map is more important than the OEM.

^ agree with dave. i picked up a turbo off a 524td, which is the same trim & ar as the usual volvo/saab turbos. i'm not aware of any nissan applications that have a T3/T4 hybrid, and the ones that do have straight T3's (RB20, RB25, VG30ET) usually have some kind of wierd proprietary turbine housing. nissan's four-banger turbos, usually T25s, may be a bit smaller than you really want.

volvo/saab/etc turbos all use the normal 5-bolt housing. i picked up one of these integral wastegate assemblies from ATP turbo:

http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TP&Product_Code=ATP-WGT-023&Category_Code=

which should make the install easy, as all you need is a v-band on the downpipe to match up to it.

good luck-

i was just wondering. there is a shitload of turbo cars in the local pickApart. bought a 85 2door with no running gear and was given free range to strip a early 80's 320i. gonna do a lowcost 318/m10 turbo build.
