it died the other day :( alternator shorted out which caused the oil pump to fail... it the carried on running with no pump, the big end bearings exploded and it blew an end cap off a con rod. smokie everywhere, no oil leaks supprisingly though. still runs but sounds like a machine gun now... oh and its missing on one cylinder. what can i do? how much will this cost to fix/replace?

Sorry to here of your bad news mate :mad:

It might be cheaper to replace with another engine:confused:

By far cheaper to buy a used engine. How would a failing alternator have anything to do with an oil pump failure? Oil pump is driven from the crank no connection or anything to do with the alternator.

someone forgot to tighten there bolts...


btw, for future refference..how often do you guys pull the pan and tighten your oil pump bolts?
