easiest way to go: get another 318 tranny...
keep in mind that every transmission have different lengths, therefor will require you to get/modify your main driveshaft.

Both are Getrag 260 with different gearing

M42 ratios

1st through 5th and reverse:

3.72 / 2.02 / 1.32 / 1.00 / 0.80 / 3.71

M20b25/b27 ratios
1st though 5th and reverse

3.83 / 2.20 / 1.40 / 1.00 / 0.81 / 3.71

get another 318 tranny if you can.. but the M20 trannys are not too far off and waay more available
