Not expert on the e36 version, but I would replace the sensor with an OEM one remove ground. The signal from the sensor hits the ECU and if something is off, everything else can then be.

I get them new, and cheaper than pelican, let me know and I tell you the price. Of course used is cheaper.

Well since this is a Bosch item, Pelican parts is the best. $70 from them. Sorry.

What does 1215 mean? Don't have code book with me now.

That is weird, but maybe due to the knock sensor, the ECU is doing different things and maf has to react and you get that error. Not sure what to say here.

You can alwasy try to tape it to seal it in the mean time. Duct tape works for this. Of course when you get the knock sensor, try to get elbow. I can get the boot for $21 plus shipping. Cheaper than Pelican.

Used AND A USED INTAKE ELBOW
