I will do a full writeup when we are finished, but here is how it looks for now.
The wrist pin sits .3mm higher which drops the piston in the bore the same amount. This isnt much, however the S52 piston dish is much bigger than the M42 so the compression would be way low. If you want to run boost, just get the block bored to 3.400" put the pistons in with stock rods and crank and have fun. Compression ratio would be ~8.9:1
What Dino and I are doing is using the M44 crank and machining the pistons for clearance. I'll be taking 2.5mm off the top of the piston and milling new valve reliefs.
The target is 10.5:1 with almost 2.0 of displacement.
I need to hurry and get these pistons done since I just put in my 2 weeks notice at work :eek: it's going to suck not having access to cool tools, but I really have to go back to school :mad:
The small ends of the rods are exactly the same between S52 and M42.
