Hi there!

My name is Matthieu, I'm 25 years and I currently own a 1990 318is. I also own a 1996 E36 3.2l M3 sedan and a 1981 E21 323i automatic.

Let's focus on the E30. It's a diamond schwartz metallic shadowline one, with genuine 318is sport seats, sun roof and 15 inches star spoke rims (styling 10). It has 136500 miles on the clock.
It has an E36 steering rack (with no power steering ), Bilstein B8 and lowering springs.

It's in quite good condition, I am very happy with it. I will look forward to add some gizmos, such as full OBC, remote central locking, cruise control or power steering.

Here are my other toys:

The M3, 97400 miles, more details here: http://www.bmwmregistry.com/detail.php?id=7031

The 323i, 116500 miles: (soon 7×15 inches BBS RA + Bilstein + lowering springs)

Hi Jorgeconrico,

Thanks !
The E30 is a real pain to maneuver, the E36 steering rack is much direct. Anyway, when moving, it's quick and responsive.

Hi SPOONU,

The remote central locking for the 318is has just arrived. While I'm at it, I will add a gizmo not listed above. I will add a central locking button to the dash (I will follow this tutorial, which, sadly, is not available anymore on its original website). I have a spare non illuminated window switch to do this.

Almost forgot, I will go for an M Tech 2 steering wheel, I do prefer it upon the M Tech 1.

Considering the E21, I will mount these by the end of the year:

These are BBS RA 7×15 inches, 13 offset. I will install lowering springs and Bilstein shocks. I will try to retrofit remote central locking as well, but this is not a priority.

The M3 will receive a full OBC and cruise control (it should have had a cruise control, it's a must have IMHO).

^Welcome, and I love your collection.  Very nice.

Also, thanks a bunch for that writeup... I'll be doing that to mine as well since I HATE having to lock/unlock the central by pushing or pulling the lock pin.

Hi AcS, thanks !

I do hate using the lock pin, this is why I've been searching a way to add some kind of a switch. I ran into this tutorial wich was beyond my expectations.

Where are you going to put your switch ? I thought it would be perfect where the air conditioning switch is supposed to be (I do not have air conditioning).

Hi HaterProof,

It's not so hard :p
The E30 is my daily driver, I have the M3 or the E21 for week-ends.

The main problem is to keep all three in good condition :)

Hi!

Here are some pictures of my 318is, taken yesterday, during a "workshop day" with friends:

Don't know if you guys would be interested in seeing the other cars we worked on (E21 323i, E46 330ci, E46 M3 and of course my E30 318is) :)

Hi everybody!

As previously said, I did some modifications to the E30. The power steering pump is on its way, I have found a donor car for the entire assembly.

Last week-end I installed cruise control with the help of a friend. I got my cruise control kit from eBay (mobile_exchange_eauctions), it was taken off a 87 325i convertible. I haven't bought the E36 bracket (custom made one) nor bought the E36 bowden cable. Everything was adapted and guess what, it works like a charm :)

I also replaced the four tires. I bought Nankang NS2 supposedly "ultra sport". These aren't bad tires but they are definitely not good tires either.
